When it comes to taking care of your skin using natural and organic topicals, CBD soap is one such product that most people haven’t considered yet.
In this article, we dive into the benefits of using CBD soap and how you can incorporate it into your own daily skincare routine.
CBD is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid found in the hemp plant. There are a variety of different types of CBD-rich hemp extracts, and these extracts can be used to formulate a seemingly endless array of distinct products.
Over the last couple of years, CBD soaps have started trending. Hemp beauty products, in general, have gained a lot of popularity recently, and people are curious about the potential benefits of CBD soap. Find out what CBD soap is, and discover why this product type might be beneficial. Then, find answers to commonly asked CBD soap questions.
What is CBD oil soap?
CBD oil soap is a soap or body wash product that has been infused with cannabinoid cannabidiol (CBD). This cannabinoid can be added to soap in a variety of different ways.
Some CBD soap brands, for instance, use CBD isolate. This type of CBD is great since it doesn’t contain any THC, but CBD isolate soaps might not be as effective.
Broad-spectrum CBD oil is also THC-free, but it contains the minor cannabinoids and terpenes that make full-spectrum CBD so great. The kingpin of CBD extracts, full-spectrum CBD is the whole-plant approach to cannabidiol soap, but it can contain up to 0.3% THC.
With soaps, very low concentrations of cannabinoids will absorb into your skin. So, the presence of small amounts of THC in CBD soap is not as big of a deal from a drug testing perspective compared to other product types.
Just as there are dozens of different kinds of soap, there are countless different CBD soap products on the market. CBD-rich hemp soap products vary widely in terms of quality, though.
Is soap an effective way to use CBD?
That all depends. With soaps, ingredients make all the difference when it comes to bioavailability, which is the measurement of how much of a substance your body can use.
Some CBD soap formulations have reasonably high bioavailability, making them useful for the same applications as CBD creams and other topical cannabidiol products. Others may just simply slide CBD molecules against your skin, delivering potential benefits on the surface of your skin that likely don’t penetrate into deeper tissues.

Is CBD soap legal to ship?
The 2018 Farm Bill established that CBD is not an illegal drug at the federal level. As a result, CBD-rich hemp products containing less than 0.3% THC, including soaps, are commonly shipped all over the country. At Naia CBD Boutique, we ship our CBD soaps to all 50 states but do not ship internationally at this time due to federal regulations.
How is CBD bar soap made?
That all depends on the CBD soap product in question. Soaps are all alike in that they’re designed to remove dirt, oil, and contaminants from their skin. The similarities end there, however. Each CBD soap on the market features different ingredients, and these ingredients are configured in different ways.
In most cases, however, the production of CBD soap first involves combining lye and oil in a process called saponification. Then CBD extract, essential oils, and other substances can be added to imbue the soap with additional attributes.
